Ormeau Credit Union is owned by our members. Only they get to access our services. Only they get to share in the benefits. That’s why it’s good to join. And it’s easy too.

So be part of something that’s good for local people like you and your community.

Opening an Account

You can only open an account here in person. Be sure to bring identification with you. Have a look at our Proving Your Identity leaflet to check which forms we accept.

This list of Wards below provides the best example of the area that we cover but unfortunately its not a perfect match – credit union boundaries were generally based on old parish boundaries which don’t exist anymore. If you’re not sure just send us an email with your address and we’ll be able to tell you.

Am I eligible to become a member?

Ormeau Credit Union – like many credit unions – was established to help a local community. So in order to be eligible for membership you have to live within our geographic boundaries.

These are:

Central Belfast south of City Hall; Blackstaff, Musgrave, Finaghy, Taughmona, Windsor, Malone, Upper Malone, Minnowburn, Botanic, Stranmillis, Ravenhill, Ballynafeigh, Rosetta, Newtownbreda, Cregagh, Wynchurch, Hillfoot, Galwally, Cairnshill, Knockbracken, Beechill, Carryduff East and West.

The main arterial routes in South Belfast provide another way of thinking about the area: Donegall Road–Boucher Road; Lisburn Road; Malone Road; Ormeau Road–Saintfield Road; Ravenhill Road.

If you’re not sure, just get in touch, let us know your address and we can confirm things for you. Also, we’ve large a map in our reception area showing the area we cover in full.
